Dr. Keenan Massey
Dr. Massey’s love of working with animals began when he was working in a local pet food store during his under grad in college. There he bathed dogs and sold high quality pet food for two and a half years.
Dr. Massey left his job at the pet food store when he began the doctorate of chiropractic program at Cleveland Chiropractic University in the fall of 2013. He graduated the program in the spring of 2018 and then began taking the course for animal chiropractic in the summer of that year.
Dr. Massey practices out of Arrowhead Vet Clinic in Independence, MO, where he treats small animals and some horses. He has Thursdays reserved to treat horses and will work with owners to find a time that works with their schedules.

Why Choose Animal Chiropractic?
Just like our bodies need to be adjusted from time to time, so to do animals. The nervous system is the master control system of our body and the spine is the housing for a large part of that system. Should the spine become misaligned, it can put pressure on the spinal cord and impinge the signals going to and from the nervous system. This can happen not only in people but animals as well but due to the more wild nature of animals, they wont always tell us when they need to be adjusted. In the wild, if they showed any weakness, then they wouldn’t survive for very long.
Because of this, our animals friends will often compensate in other parts of their bodies to seem like everything is okay, but this can actually compound the situation and can make it worse. Animal chiropractic seeks to relieve the problems from the spine and joints of the animal so that they can live happy and healthy lives free of pain. Because of the show no pain nature of animals, regular visits are recommended to help keep everything in alignment and to keep your pet up and running for as long as possible.
